Daily Fitness And Motivation

“The Pain You Feel Today Will Be The Strength You Feel Tomorrow”
~ Arnold Schwarzenegger

What is Fitness? What is Motivation? How do they relate?
Are you searching for some help to establish your daily fitness and motivation success? Sometimes you just need a little push to get started on the right track!

Fitness And Motivation

The overall definition of Fitness is described as the condition of being physically fit and healthy. Although there are different types of fitness, some examples could include strength training, cardio and endurance.

Motivation on the other hand is the reason/reasons one has for acting or behaving a certain way. It is the general desire or willingness of someone driving them towards something.

In my books, Fitness and Motivation go hand in hand ~ without having something pushing you towards an end goal it is hard to stay on track to being fit.

Get Motivated!

What motivates you? This is a BIG part of being successful in your daily, weekly, monthly, yearly — ALL of your goals!

You need to find what motivates you. It could be a certain type of music, or maybe mini challenges that you push yourself to complete daily, it could even be a video that you watch every morning!

Some tricks that I personally love to get/stay motivated are;

  • Sticky notes ~ Placing sticky notes all over with messages on them can really help to keep you motivated.
For example – Posted on the fridge : Drink more water, An apple a day, Pace yourself, Eat healthy.
-Posted by your workout area : I can and I will, I am determined, I am capable, I am in charge of my body, No excuses, Don’t be lazy, Push yourself!
-Posted on the TV, remote, couch : Do — jumping jacks, sit ups, push ups, crunches during the commercials, Stretch during the show, Drink water! These small post-its can make a huge impact on reminding you to stay focused and on track.

  • Motivational messages also posted around you ~ In the office, above your scale, on your headboard, the background of your computer, in your kitchen, on your door. These can be full paragraphs or even just quotes.Personally I find that having thoughtful and inspirational messages can really help to improve your mood and your process of thinking for the day.It can help you change from having a negative outlook on what you have to do for the day ~ to realizing that whatever it is has to be done, and that having a bad attitude towards it is going to make it more miserable! These messages can range anywhere from : “Be Stronger Than Your Excuses” and “The Beginning is always the hardest, don’t give up on yourself” to “Think positive because thoughts are like the steering wheel that moves are life in the right direction” and “Life is 10% of what happens to you, and 90% of how you react to it”

  • Make lists ~ I am the type of person that loves to have a list in front of me when there are things that I need to remember (Maybe its because I am actually very forgetful lately). So even when it comes to my daily fitness and motivation I like to write down what I want to accomplish that day. For example my list for today would include the following;

~Drink water as soon as I wake up
~Eat a healthy breakfast
~Workout throughout the day; Complete : 100 knee ups, 100 sit ups, 100 push ups, 100 pull ups, plank x 10
~Write an article on Daily Fitness And Motivation
~Drink more water
~Bring the dogs for a LONG walk
~Eat healthy meals and snacks
~Fold and put away laundry
~Stretch during show/movie

I like to write down everything, this way I know there are plenty of things on my list that I complete which are every day tasks. When I do this it is easy to cross most things off of the list which gives me a sense of accomplishment, and helps to motivate me to have everything crossed off my list by the time I go to bed!

Videos and Quotes

Like I mentioned earlier, quotes and messages can be very helpful with keeping you motivated but videos can also be extremely helpful! There are many motivational videos out there that not only inspire you to be the best that you can be physically, but mentally as well.

So whether you put one of these videos on as soon as you wake up in the morning, or have it playing as you work out, I assure you that you will get something out of the messages that they are sending!

Here are some of my favourite motivational quotes and videos!

“Nothing is IMPOSSIBLE, The word itself says ‘IM POSSIBLE’!” ~ Audrey Hepburn

Video #1:

It is a perfect example video as it provides an amazing motivational message!

“Stop Saying ‘I WISH’ and start saying ‘I WILL'”

Video # 2

This is another perfect motivational video for eating healthy!

“If you can dream it, You can do it” ~ Walt Disney

Have A Reason

There has to be a reason behind your motivation. Why do you have goals and why are they important enough for you to reach them? Use these to spark your motivation.

You may also find motivation by following others on their fitness journeys. This can show you that success is possible, and you can learn tips of what to do and what not to do through them.

If this is something that helps you, maybe documenting your own fitness journey and sharing with others will also help to motivate and keep you focused.

Another helpful way to keep yourself motivated is to keep your workouts interesting and fun! For instance, maybe every other day of working out you take it outside; Go for a walk/jog/run, a bike ride, a hike, etc.

And last but not least my favourite thing to do is reward myself. If I complete my planned workouts throughout the week(s), I like to do something to reward myself. Whether it be buying myself a cute new workout outfit, or even going on a mini trip! But remember, you want to keep it relevant and within your goal limits (Which means NO spoiling yourself with candy, chocolate or ice cream!). Some of my favourites are bringing my dogs somewhere new to go for a walk/swim/hike or going on a canoe trip!

Believe In Yourself

Through every step of the way, it is so very important to believe in yourself! You can, and you will accomplish anything you put your mind to, you just need to believe that you can.

  1. Wow you are a guru !! Your article is informative, insightful , but light – not too heavy or overwhelming ! You have successfully made it seem easy, possible and fun to achieve something sooo many people have great difficulty with !! And you gave an attitude to carry throughout the day to stay strong with !!:) 5⭐️’S

    1. Thank you Davina! The trick is to keep everything light! ** Even in everyday life and activities!**
Once anything becomes too heavy or overwhelming, it becomes a chore ~ which makes it something that you don’t want to do!
BUT, if you make/set goals that are smaller or “easy” and can be fun, they are much easier to achieve ~ This will also set a precedent for any other goals or tasks you have set for yourself down the road!
